How long will it take me to ski/hike/run again after surgery on my knee due to an ACL tear?

I injured my knee in March of this year (2007) and I've only been able to see a PT four times since then. long story short-they didn't want to take my insurance anymore, and it took awhile to get a new PT. The knee is STILL swollen three months after the injury date and I cannot bend it fully. it feels like life is over.
