Book/novell blah..?

hi is anyone here in year 12 reading a george orwell book called 1984? or anyone else who has read it? i have read it but i dont quite understand it i have to write out a practice essay on it and i dont know if what i am writing is correct or not lol. a lot of weird language and terms being used aswell as some strange names of things. any help would b great thx :)
